About Us

Suzanne first rode when she was a young girl, growing up in Europe. She stopped riding for several years after moving back to the United States. Then, she began riding again in the early 1990's when her daughter started taking lessons.

In 2003, Suzanne had to undergo extensive knee surgery to finally  correct a problem caused many years earlier while playing raquetball.

As she recovered from the knee surgery, she wanted to get back to riding again. However, when she first went back, she found that she was unable to sit comfortably in a saddle. She quickly found that she was much more comfortable when she rode bareback.

She realized the therapeutic value and the use of riding to recover more quickly. Working with a chiropractor and two physical therapists, she created an extensive therapeutic program she now uses for helping others.

Suzanne also participates in many parades and does exhibition riding with Diego, her Andalusian. These exciting experiences have contributed to her ability to offer Bomb-Proofing and Synchronized Riding clinics.

Diego  is a PRE (Pura Raza Espanola) Andalusian. He has been trained in many of the techniques of Spanish High School (Alta Escuela) and loves to participate in parades.
D'Artanyn  is a Spanish Norman. He is half Percheron draft horse. This accounts for much of his size and shape. It also explains his easy going personality.

Testimonials

I make a two hour round-trip drive to take lessons with Suzanne. That’s how great she is!  In the past I’ve taken lessons with several different instructors and have usually ended up stopping because I thought the teacher was being unfair to the horses.  Suzanne’s horses are the most lovable, warm-hearted, well-behaved horses I’ve ever met and I think that’s because she’s both a good trainer and a kind one. She’s also a really good teacher and most of all, she’s FUN!

I used to ride with my friends when I was a kid. No formal training, no lack of confidence and lots of poor judgment. Now, 40 years later, I'm having a great time getting reacquainted with horses. During the intervening years, I had lost all of my confidence (and most of my balance!), but with Suzanne's encouraging personality and wealth of knowledge, I am remembering why I had enjoyed horseback riding so much. Suzanne's care and intuition, concerning both client and horse, produce a safe and rewarding environment. If you pay attention to Suzanne's instructions and guidance, life's fences can be jumped!

Suzanne is a fantastic trainer who has abundant patience, and is great fun!  My daughter has trained with her for about 9 months and has learned SO much in that time... not just about riding, but how to care for the horses and to know their personalities!  Suzanne has wonderful horses!  It has been an all around great experience!
